2026 Middle Tennessee Area USBC Youth City Tournament Rules
- The 2026 Middle TN Area USBC Youth City Championship Tournament will be conducted on a handicap basis. Four (4) Member team event, doubles event, and a singles event. (Participants who bowl in all three events will automatically qualify for all events awards.) Entries are limited to one time only doubles and singles events. However, entrants may bowl in two (2) team events, provided they change at least two (2) original members. The tournament will be conducted in four (4) average divisions for Team, Doubles, Singles, and All- Events. Team and Doubles events may be all boys, all girls, or mixed. All bowlers will bowl three (3) games per event.
- All Entrants must be a member of the Middle Tennessee Area USBC and should present their USBC card when checking in to bowl. As it pertains to youth bowlers, members are defined as youth bowlers who participate in a certified league within the Middle Tennessee Area USBC district.
- Handicap shall be based on 100% of the difference of individuals average and 210.
- Awards:
- Boys and Girls will be recognized separately for awards in Singles and All- Events only.
- Awards will be given on a basis of one for each ten (10) entries in teams, doubles, and singles, first place in all events of the four (4) average divisions. (Scratch Champions in each team event for all average divisions will receive awards.)
- 1st Place Scholarship will be awarded to the Scratch and Handicap Boy and Girl All Events; High Game; and Series Scratch Series in each division/
- Scholarship will be deposited in the USBC SMART ACCOUNT.
- $100 Scholarship for a 300 Game Bowler
- Bowlers entering doubles must enter singles. Bowlers entering singles must enter doubles. Single events will precede doubles events. Bowler will bowl in the same order listed on the entry form.
- Bowlers may only bowl in SINGLE EVENT ONCE.
- Substitutes will be allowed to bowl and unlimited number of times in doubles and teams, however FIRST APPEARANCE will count for all events. Re-classifications may be in order due to the use of a substitute. NO CHANGE MAY BE MADE TO AN ENTRY LINEUP WHEN A SUBSTITUTE IS ADDED.
- Averages for the youth city tournament shall be the highest certified league average as of April 4th, 2026, with at least 21 games. Bowlers who do not meet the average requirement will use their current average of at least 21 games prior to their participation in this tournament. If Bowler does not meet any average requirements, bowler will bowl scratch of 210. Substitutes will use the same average requirements as entering bowlers. Any bowler who bowls in a Split Season, cumulative pin fall and games will be used to determine average as of April 4th, 2026. Please send average verification sheets as of April 4, 2026.
- Falsification of any entry will result in automatic disqualification of the bowler. Corrections in averages can be made to the completion of the first game of a series, or within 24 hours after game of the series has given written consent to the bowler authorizing such extension of the time to correct his/her average.
- Entries must be postmarked no later than April 4, 2026. Entries must be accompanied by Money Order, Cashier’s Check, or Personal Check made payable to MTA Youth City TRN Fund. DO NOT SEND CASH. No Money will be returned after received by the tournament director.
- $30.00 FEE FOR ALL RETURNED CHECKS.
- Bowlers are required to wear suitable attire when participating in the Middle TN Area USBC Youth City Championships Tournament.
- NO indecent attire, short skirts, skorts, short shorts, halter tops, tank tops, t-shirts or bowling equipment with Tobacco or alcohol advertising.
- Pants must be worn at waist level.
- No use of Electronic Equipment, Cigarettes, E- Cigarettes, Vaping, or Chewing Tobacco while participating in the tournament.
- Co- Champions will be declared in the case of a tie in Team, Doubles, Singles, and All-Events.
- All Bowlers must check in at least 45 minutes prior to scheduled time. Each participate must present USBC Cards when checking in. Entries are limited to USBC Member who are in a certified league through Middle TN Area USBC Association.
- The Tournament is USBC Certified. Rules not covered will be decided on the Tournament Committee or USBC Rules governing tournament play.
- Optional Scratch single event is additional $5.00 fee. First Place Boy/ Girl will receive scholarship.
- Eating or drinking is permitted if it does not disrupt a bowler's turn. The Tournament Director reserves the right to re-rate any bowler’s average. The decision of the Tournament Director shall be final, except when an appeal is made in writing within 72 hours of the decision to the Middle Tennessee Area USBC Board for further consideration.
Smoking: Tusculum Lanes is a non-smoking facility; this includes e-cigs, vaping and chewing tobacco. Smoking is permitted outside in designated areas Only.
